Producing superior sound at a size that’s just right for the averagely proportioned living space, the RUBICON 5 is the first of the floorstanding loudspeakers within the RUBICON family. Combining that bigger internal capacity with our unique ribbon/soft dome hybrid tweeter module, the RUBICON 5 extends and widens higher frequencies to deliver a flawless soundstage of impeccably crisp detail and perfectly precise bass response to bring your music to life.

RUBICON 5 is a floor standing loudspeaker. It expands the sonic performance of the RUBICON 2 by adding a hybrid tweeter and a larger cabinet offering more of everything. Extending and widening the high frequencies for improved detail, and adding more well timed deep bass for a more demanding presence.

The RUBICON 5 is perfect for stereo listening or as the front speakers in a medium sized surround setup combined with a pair of RUBICON 2 or RUBICON LCR as the back speakers and a RUBICON VOKAL as the center speaker.

SMC

With the introduction of the SMC based «Linear Drive System», we’ve broken new ground in the loudspeaker industry. Utilizing the technologies behind the SMC in the RUBICON 5, we aim to create an extremely low distortion and maximize the level of details, even at low volume. With the drivers manufactured in-house at our Danish factory, and featuring the latest in magnet motor technology, the RUBICON 5 is ready to set new standards for audio quality for Hi-Fi lovers around the world.

HYBRID TWEETER

In the RUBICON 5, DALI makes use of both the soft dome tweeter working alone, and the hybrid tweeter configuration an amazing rendering of the high frequencies. The voice coil used in the RUBICON 5 is designed to be very light and agile in order to achieve a broader bandwidth. This lighter voice coil is placed inside a powerful ferrite magnet that keeps a tight control of its movements.

WOOFER

The cone used in the RUBICON 5 draws upon the heritage from the EPICON technologies, and has a light, rigid and randomly uneven structure. This lower the complexity of the central part of the motor, ensures even piston like movements, reduces the possibility of surface resonance greatly and creates an extremely low distortion within the RUBICON 5.

CABINET

The gracefully elegant exterior of the RUBICON works as the base for the low-loss drivers. In every cabinet, the mid-range and bass drivers are separated into their own chambers. Turbulence is minimized through a bass reflex port, which is placed directly behind every woofer, and the timing between the woofer and the bass port is thereby also optimized.
